Victor Davis Hanson is a rightwing hack, not a serious scholar of any kind. All his opinions are stupid and written to be believed by stupid, ignorant conservatives. You can't take any he writes with any sort of confidence since he sees the world filtered through batshit-crazy rightwing ideology. Case in point: Hanson's the only guy I've read who says Obama will lose to McCain 18 to 520 electoral votes!
I wear white or grey socks too sometimes and I don't see anything wrong with it, in fact I think it marks you as a real conservative and wearing clean socks is more important than their color.
omg! i totally had to read his book for ancient history! the carnage and culture one it was not terribly interesting... but i'm in 8th grade and it was better than like the weeks and weeks of herodotus and quintus curtius rufus
