Went to the GUN STORE in Vegas on the weekend, the old .45 thompson machine gun auto "ran away", that means it just emptied a clip without pulling the trigger. No big deal as the instructor had very good control of the weapon and situation. I highly recommend going to The Gun Store, the staff is very professional and it is a once in a life time experience. The gun that ran away was no big deal, it's an old gun that has probably had a few million rounds through it, I place no blame on the instructor - shit happens!

  • "The gun that ran away was no big deal" ?!?!?! Obviously, you are not very gun edjumacated.

  • @SpeedTrapAhead I know what you are saying, what I mean was that the siteeeation was dealt with and in the end not a big deal, there are other potential outcomes that could have been a very big deal.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Nice, way to hang on!

  • @Mick762 Thats why i said some of the time. Advances in the technology over the years have improved these safety mechanisms built into open bolt designs. The open bolt design has its pros and cons, like anything.

  • @kleshnikov47 Well, yes and no. An open bolt is a perfect SMG and belt-fed MG system because it allows for rapid heat dispersion, but it has to be engineered against this kinda failure. I own/have owned a Colt 1928A1 and Uzi A,B, mini, and micros, as well as a Rock Island M60. A good example is the SMG Uzi's three tiered safety system (two-eared sear, ratcheting top cover, and grip safety that locks the bolt up) that allows all the pro's of the open bolt, but none of the M1928A1's failures!

  • @bobodean1 - YES, GUN MAGAZINES - NOT GUN VIDEO CLIPS - YAAAHOOOT!

  • THE GUN STORE IS AWESOME

  • That is why open bolts suck sometimes. lol

  • MAGAZINE! not "clip"....amateurs
