Salmon Run

Spawning salmon swim up the Salmon River near Pulaski, NY. Gate on stream diverts them to Fish Commission tanks where eggs are harvested.

some get by, some make a left up the fish ladder into the hatchery. They harvest the females and raise them to re-stock. They do this with Brown, Rainbow and Steelhead from that hatchery

how can they lay their eggs? they need to lay their eggs in clam water so that it wont get drifted away.

Its not sad, its actually helping the fish, because when the fish go in the ladder they prevent people from catchingthem and saves the eggs from trout,if there was no hatchery the creek would be fished out in a week

yo i jest went there this years run, it was awsome caught a 41 pounder,i havent been there since i was three.i am now 13 i dont use sisy line like 20 or 30 pound test i use 120 pound test. if anything my rod will break before my line :p
