Big Apple Story

A Film by Steve Siegel and Phil Buehler. THE BIG APPLE STORY is an offbeat fable of the plight of New York City during its last fiscal crisis of several decades ago -- when the City was teetering on the brink of bankruptcy. The film may have some particular resonance to the City today as it faces another fiscal crisis. The film chronicles the journey of a Big Apple-- a 6-foot piece of fruit. Along the way, Big Apple wanders onto the set of a TV game show, where he is forced to choose between prizes behind Door #1 and Door #2. Unfortunately, Big Apple's experience as a game show contestant is not fruitful, and our hero returns to the streets in pitiful condition. To reveal any more would lessen the (ap)peal of this ripe and juicy tale of intrigue.
