MEDIUM: A video game performance
The following is documentation of a 24 hour video game performance enacted at Dadabase in Vancouver for SWARM07. Arden played Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for 24 hours non-stop in a window front space.
The video game industry thrives in today's culture. Most games, however, are filled with the same themes and content, being redone continuously since early days of gaming. The 'good ones' are able to suck the player from their corporeality into its digital reality. Arden explores the game's infringement on the gamer's reality during extended game play. MEDIUM examines the physical and psychological repercussions of immersion into a digital realm.
