Are you joking? Of course he was gay! That's like asking if Ross the intern from The Tonight Show is gay! They both were and are effimate, but who gives a shit! Charles was one of the funniest people on the planet, and I don't care who he was fucking. He made everyone laugh, and was a genuinely talented guy.

He was gay, but had the same partner since the mid 80s, so AIDS probably wasn't the case. His partner said that he had been ill for over a year. Face it, pneumonia to any senior citizen can be fatal, depending on the person's already established health record...
