Come take a seven minute journey aboard the fabled SS Normandie in the 1930's. These home movies actually came from two sources, both 8mm black and white and 16mm. Oh, those lucky passengers! Set to the music of Django Reinhart and his Hot Club of Paris band. Bon voyage!

Could not agree more - a stunning piece of film. The four funnelled liner is 'Aquitania'. The liner with three funnels looks like an Anchor liner, possibly 'Transylvania'. Perhaps one of the most interesting ships is the liner with the white hull and the three toned (blue and white with a black top) funnel. This could be Lamport and Holt's 'Votaire' or 'Vandyke'. Sadly, 'Transylvania', 'Voltaire' and 'Vandyke' were sunk in WW2. Aquitainia was broken up in 1950.

Great vid, thanks for sharing. Interesting to see scenes of several liners entering or leaving the harbor and one at 3:39 appears to be the RMS Olympic or possibly the Britanic, sister ships to the TItanic.

Such wonderful footage! Makes you wish you could just step through the computer screen and onto the Normandie's deck.
