Well warcraft was meant to be warhammer game but Blizzard didn't get the rights from Games Workshop so they made different game.

But major things like orcs are the same as wow orcs. But Warhammer exist since 1984 while Blizzard alone exist since early 90's

Freaking love this game, WAY cooler, funnier and graphicly beutifull than WoW!!
like you said: "you dont have to stay in the woods and kill boars" you are cast directly into battle against the other faction. this game is AWESOME!!!
