This version of Oriental Man was recorded at The Harp Hotel, Albrighton, Shropshire, England on Tuesday, November 11th. 2008 by New Washboard Syncopators.

The Syncopators line-up was leader Chris Carmel on cornet, Dave Braidley on trombone, Bob Smith on clarinet and baritone sax, C0-leader Tony Quinn on percussion, Bpb Pearce on bass and George Linders on banjo.
Once again a brilliant gig at the Harp where sessions are held every Sunday lunchtime and Tuesday evening.

  • I must be hearing things...I thought you said Jimmy Dorsey :) My bad.

  • One of my all time favorite 20s tunes! Good job .

Im not too sure I can recall Dorsey doing it, but it was def recorded by the Chicago Footwarmers in 1928 with Johnny Dodds.

  • Great performance... I especially enjoyed the clarinet! Thanks for posting!
