See the pattern written out at: http://jazztrumpetlicks.com/2009/04/a-whole-tone-pattern-i-heard-claudio-rodi... I heard Claudio Roditi play this Jazz whole tone pattern on trumpet. This lick goes down in whole steps and chromatically off of major 3rds.

  • Definitely a Clifford Brown lick. He used it often in cadenzas.

  • His name is Claud (Cloud)-io Roditi (Rode - ee - tee)

  • Brownie did this in night in tunisia

  • Oh, Just a side note: I am not sure who first played this WT lick but Roditi got it from Brownie. Listen to Cliford Brown's cadenza at the end of "Once in a While" from the Jazz Messengers Live at Birdland Vol. 1 album. Peace.
