@belto04 Hello, Hola! Hey, I saw Chi Chi play in San Antonio, Texas at the PGA, 1968. He weighed about 130 pounds then, but let me tell you he was knocking it out there with Jack Nicklaus. When he swung the driver, it looked like he was coming out of his shoes....WOW!!...:)
I live in Puerto Rico and ive played several times in Chi chi Rodriguez Golf Course in Guayama, PR. He actually lives there and everytime I go I see him. He even signed a cap I bought there. one time he played the first hole, a par 3, and he still swings the same. Btw the ball bounced and landed 4 feet to the side of the flag.
My father knew Chi Chi through charity golf tournaments he would appear at year after year - He was an extremely funny kind and talented individual - I also saw him on more than one occasion hit two balls one a hook one a slice and have them collide mid air 200+ yards out... and many other tricks as well. I would love to see those vids up
Chi Chi used to have a "trick routine" (actually showing great skill, I think, if it was for real) where he would tee two golf balls side by side, then hit one ball very high and a good distance. A second or two later, he would line up the second ball and drive it low. Ultimately the first ball would hit the ground and start bouncing and, as I remember seeing, 3 out of about 11 or 12 times, the second ball would hit it! Anyone have any film on that?
