Rare habitats across Britain are set to benefit from more than £2.2 million of funding this summer from WREN's £10 million Biodiversity Action Fund.
Meet four of the projects which have successfully applied for the funding from WREN, a not for profit business that awards grants, generated by a tax on landfill donated from sites owned by WRG, to community, environmental and heritage projects.
Thanks to the grants of £100,000 to £250,000, the projects will carry out vital work to restore, maintain and develop a range of key habitats and help protect rare species of birds, butterflies and mammals.
WREN has pledged £10 million over a five-year period to its Biodiversity Action Fund which is now in its third year - money which will help the UK meet ambitious Bidiversity Action Plan (BAP) targets.
