After majoring in biology at St. Bonaventure University near his hometown of Olean, N.Y., Bassanelli earned a masters degree in biochemical pharmacology at Roswell Park Memorial Institute Cancer Research Center in Buffalo. During that time, he realized that his calling lied in medicine. After attending Albany Medical College, he pursued an internship and residency at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute. Every patients story and history is different; and its very gratifying to watch people improve and get better, particularly when theyre so depressed or so tormented.
