Also, another rumored candidate, was Nils Lofgren. Ronnie Wood was the from the beginning, he balked on it staying he would rather continue on with The Faces.(small faces) Then, Wood gave in, and everybody was happy. Nils did call Richards about the gig and was surprised when he answered the phone himself

I posted on another vid how i had the honor of playing on a recording session with Shuggie, what a nice guy and great player...He was actually asked to join the Stones after Mick Taylor left and declined...he also played bass for some Zappa stuff too, hows that for cool!! amazing talent!
