Rather sad to see some good locomotives go to waste...

How on earth were these fine locos's scrapped to be replaced by the bland faceless rubbish thats around now :(
-
And to think the depot is no more too, replaced by a car showroom.
Very sad indeed.

Never went to Tinsley; more often than not it was full of Sulzer garbage.

Seeing all those withdrawn class 45s reminds me of what Thornaby used to look like. There was about 20 class 45/1s lined up waiting a tow to oblivion.I used to see them every day and the marks where the Nameplates had been and the thought that
these engines were once very sought after, made me very sad.I always liked the Peaks, although the class 46 variant was quite a gamble for you if you were pushed for a connecting Train.46 044 failed on me twice in one week !!!!

its awful to see the peaks like that! but how would they looked today? with all these hidious liveries? blue suited them ! just think 45+load 8 mk 2's +1 bg heaven!

Used to go to Tinsley abit in the early 90's. A good view point along side the depot. In the later years only the withdrawn stuff was was visible, with everything else kept inside.
very sad indeed especially to think what replaced them is just garbage compared to these high quality locomotives built to last here being destroyed by choice
