I'm all for collective bargaining. But not when the govt is on the side of the unions and forces a business to deal with them. If union workers wish to strike that's great, but if a business fires them and hires new people that should be ok as well. Keep big brother out of it.

@TheLadyMichele the fact that the government has a LOWER minimum wage exemption for teenagers and disabled people and younger people, PROVES that minimum wage destroys jobs for those who are less productive or for jobs that pay less! If the STANDARD minimum wage didn't cause harm, THERE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN AN EXEMPTION...FURTHERMORE, WELFARE in many cases pays LESS than minimum wage! Why have a minimum wage if what you pay people for being idle is LESS than the minimum wage????

@TheLadyMichele furthermore, not everyone needs a "living wage" to still benefit from a job...young people, teenagers or dependent spouses can still benefit from a job that pays $5 an hour because they get paid and they don't have much living expenses....so it's still profitable for them...furthermore, there are EXEMPTIONS to the minimum wage for these people! Teenagers, younger people get an EXEMPTION minimum wage which is LOWER than the ADULT minimum wage! This proves that minimum wage is bad!

@TheLadyMichele your comment still doesn't refute the fact that minimum wage destroys jobs...YOUR job may be worth 30c an hour...OR..I can go to another job that pays $5 an hour...and if I get better I can be promoted and get paid $10 an hour....OR I can start my own job and pay myself $8 an hour....If you really are a business person, then you would obviously see that THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PERSON BEING WORTH ONLY ONE WAGE... The WAGE DEPENDS ON THE JOB..

@MrBasilGanglia exactly. We live in the economic dark ages where people don't know and don't care what the fuck prices signal, including wage prices and every other price. They even admit that they think a minimum wage can be too high...you don't see them recommend $30 an hour for minimum wage, yet they dismiss that any minimum wage has the same destructive effect...and why stop at wages? why not fix prices on houses, cars, food, gas? Stupid...
