My students were having a hard time learning photosynthesis and respiration. The rap grew out of that need.

Photosynthesis has two parts
Call them reactions, light and dark
The light need light to get things done
Using photosystems 2 and 1.
Calvin named the dark reaction
which must give him satisfaction
Calvin takes ATP and CO2
to make sugar for me and you.

Photosynthesis you are done!

Cellular respiration starts with FOOD
So much more than what you chew.
Respiration has many parts
Rappin' them together will be some art.
We must chew and then digest
In our cells we do no less
Sugar we half I must confess
We call this GLYCOLYSIS.

Through the Kreb's Cycle and ETC!

because 1 sugar nets 36 ATP
When you don't have enough O2 ( oh 2).
Fermentation's what you got to do.
Lactic Acid or Alcoholic
2 ATP is all you're gonna get!

Respiration, now you're done!
