It all started with one mans desire to thank his customers. Tom Metcalfe started Brat Fest in his parking lot at Hilldale Mall Memorial Day weekend, 1983. Leading with his heart, Tom realized that this was not only a great way to kick-off summer, he could also invite friends and neighbors of Metcalfes Sentry to help some of Madisons favorite charities.
Today, Toms sons, Tim and Kevin are continuing their fathers legacy. In 2009, more than 78 local charity organizations benefited from Tom Metcalfes attitude of gratitude. Together, Brat Fest volunteers brought over $100,000 to Madison area non-profits through the sale of the record breaking 208,752 brats Memorial Day weekend. The Creative Company had the privilege of telling the story to the world this year. Both major wire services and USA Today covered the story.
