I agree completely! I'm also not a huge fan of basketball but it's really a harsh exploration of a society that fails its people.

Relaly what this movie does is use the two kids and basketball as a lens for us to view not only their successes and their story, but to view problems with society as a whole. this is why I love this movie. because it isnt just a film about basketball. i rather dislike basketball, hate playing it, watching it, whatever. But despite the title and it focusing on two basketball players, it is so much more than that.

A+ Phenomenal. Even if you're not a fan of documentaries it's so much more, it's really a portrait of life in America. I'd definitely buy it if it's the only way to see it, but I think it's on Netflix if you want to check that out instead.
