Armed with an underwater camera, Darcy & Paris explore the Port River, in the Inner Harbour of Port Adelaide. Despite its history as an industrial area, there is abundant marine life to be seen.
In the intertidal zone, mussels crowd the structures, but below the low tide mark, sponges, algae and fan worms grow prolifically. Also seen are bream, sea jellies and blue swimmer crabs.
Pollution is obviously an issue. Sea life has encrusted old dumped items and now provides shelter for marine creatures, but snagged and discarded fishing lines represent an ever present threat.
We expect more expeditions this Summer and look forward to days with clearer water (we know they are there!).

  • very beautiful

  • @grandplans : Thank you for the feedback. I watched your durian video. I've seen them in China and Hong Kong and am familiar with their reputation, but like you, I haven't understood what the fuss is about. In Singapore the taxis and hotels have little stickers on the windows banning you from bringing a durian in with you...

    Cheers,

    Paul.
