Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto was in New York to accept the top UN human rights prize awarded posthumously to PPP slain Chairperson Benazir Bhutto . Bilawal received the UN award at a ceremony held at the world bodys Headquarters in New York.

The 2008 Human Rights Prize was awarded in recognition of the former prime ministers courageous struggle for democracy and fundamental freedoms in Pakistan. The award ceremony was held on December 10, marking the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
