Bo Burton's baby brother, Neil, qualifies in the #1 position and makes his first appearance on the Pro Bowlers Tour stepladder TV finals. Standing in Neil's way is Dick Ritger, who's looking to become just the fourth 20-time PBA winner. Seen here is the championship match. Ritger, who qualified in the #4 position, had defeated Dave Beckmann, 217-207; Henry Gonzalez, 235-209; and Mark Roth, 248-237, to advance to the championship match. There are a few times during this match when you can tell color commentator Bo Burton is getting a little choked up watching his baby brother perform on the lanes. Chris Schenkel on play-by-play. Nelson Burton, Jr. on color. Wonder Bowl, San Antonio, TX. Feb. 3, 1979.

  • This is the first I've ever heard or even seen of Neil Burton, Bo's Brother! Bowls very similar to his brother too! Thanks for posting this!

  • @StickTweedles87 lol!!!!

  • Made my first trip to the AMF Wonder Lanes in San Antonio (Wonder Bowl) last week and I was still amazed they have the AccuScore, which formally was the Magiscore. Place still feels retro but it's so cool to go over there. Wish it can come back for a PBA tour taping.

  • One of Ritger's good hairpieces.

  • The last center at which I bowled regularly -- candlepins, 10 years ago -- had wood AMF lanes with the blue Magic Triangles. The center no longer exists; it closed in 2003. I miss those things! :)

  • Seems like many centers feel the need to "modernize" to bring in bowlers, and part of that includes replacing the old, cool Magic Triangles with the printed cardboard inserts sold today. IMHO, going totally retro would bring in more business than making your place look like every other center in town.

  • My center still has those rocket red magic triangle masks!

  • Dick Ritger - one of the under rated bowlers of all time. Also gave back to the game with his bowling camps and videos that improved the games of many bowlers.

  • Cranker shot at 5:12!!

  • Bowls just like his bro!!
