Please, get familiar with my username because I'm subscribed to you and I'm following your lead on guiding me to my new way of life; I'll let you know my progress as the weeks continue. I'm 19 and my goal is to be able to join the military by mid-year. Meaning I need to lose 40 pounds by July-August. I've never been the one to commit to a diet or exercise plan, but I am so ready. With your videos, self-discipline, commitment, and fortitude I feel like I can accomplish my goal effectively. <3 xox

Can't you just do separate cardio? Like running, sprinting? Sprinting a mile seems like a more effective form of cardio rather than incorporating cardio elements into these workouts. It just seems awkward and it prevents you from focusing on the actual weight training. Couldn't you do cardio and weight training on separate days?

Hi Brenda, another good video, too many people do not push themselves when committing to cardiovascular exercise.
Just a quick question, what rest period would you suggest someone who wants to gain lean mass should take in between sets of the same exercise, as shorter breaks may boost testosterone for example, but training with this intensity is offset by the need to use a lighter weight for the next set?
Keep up the good work!

PLEASEE ANSWER THIS QUESTION I AM IN NEED OF MAJOR HELP..if i do a class like body pump, body attack and body combat..are those hormonally intelligent workouts? I am overweight need 50 pounds to lose weight can't afford a trainer! id reallly appreciate ur advice!
This is such a great video! Thanks so much for the info Brenda. I've heard about the benefits of doing short, super-intense workouts and I love doing them myself, but I had no idea that hormones had such a big role in fat-burning! Such great info. :)
I had a quick question: How can we keep track of our hormone levels and work to keep them balanced? Which hormones are the ones that we can regulate with our diet (like insulin)?
Keep it up with the great videos!

@cindymui Excellent question Cindy! The best way to keep track of your hormones is to locate a homeopathic doctors, certain obgyns, or a nutritional adviser who provides such services. Suzanne Somer's has a wonderful book on horomones called Breakthrough (although that's more for post menopause), but she offers some wonderful resources in the back of that book on locating DR's who do this. U should test about every 6 months.

@cindymui And the hormones you control w/ diet are ALL of them :) leptin, grhelin, insulin, glucagon, TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone), T3, T4, cortisol, histamine, ACTH, serotonin etc etc.! The body is a very smart, delicate, and complicated machine. Think of the endocrine system (which governs hormones) as one huge ocean. When one hormone is off, it causes a ripple, and all other hormones are effected (even just a bit).
