After hours of crying for the loss of my pet , I found this poem, I also had a song that made me think of how I felt, I have combined the 2 and this is the result. Enjoy...

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

  • Thank you for sharing. I've seen the poem before, but you did a nice job putting this together, and I appreciate you sharing it. I lost my best friend of 10 years about 2 years ago, and I still cry when I think of him. He was a tabby/tiger named Jubei (Jew-bay,) he was my best friend and we bonded on so many levels, I still miss him terribly. What was your friend's name?

  • My dog was Angus... He sits prominently on my mantle and i think of him every day...

Thank You for you comments and Im glad you liked my vid...

  • Wolfenfreeeyes, TheContessaofNot.....When I had my buddy Tuxedo put down 10 years ago..he was in agony from cancer that surgery didn't fix. It was 3AM when we left for the emergency vet. We put him in his carrier and he cried till we put the light on in the car. When we got to the vet, she looked and saw why we had come and quickly gave Tux an end to suffering. I held his paw and felt good for the end of his suffering. It's a shame we can't do this for our darling people too.
