  • Great question! CSI and other TV shows definitely speed the process to keep the episode action-packed. And on TV, they are showing one person processing one sample at a time. In reality it takes us a little more time to process DNA paternity tests. Samples arrive to DDC after the DNA collection at your local lab. Once DDC receives the samples, the process outlined in the video takes about 72 hours. We can do it faster if requested.

  • This is a very good series. How long do all these steps typically take? On the show CSI it seems to take only five minutes for the entire process. I am wondering how that compares to real life.
