Because of this, financial firms on Wall Street were able to operate in their own little world of fraudulent financial instruments without any oversight or regulation. But like most things, their era of unprecedented profits and greed was too good to last, and the entire fake economy that they'd built amongst themselves came crashing down. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. talks about how a few large banks managed to tank our economy with Matt Taibbi, political correspondent for Rolling Stone Magazine.
