MyPaint is a fast and easy open-source graphics application for digital painters. It lets you focus on the art instead of the program. You work on your canvas with minimum distractions, bringing up the interface only when you need it.

  • This video has a persistent audio whine in the bkgrd that your other videos usually don't. Still a great review, and looks like a cool app!

  • @polutrapans My apologies, experimenting with a different mic to try and alleviate having to record the audio separately and edit it in.

  • @InfinitelyGalactic

whats this for an os system it looks great

  • @warnerfriends Luninux OS...based on Ubuntu.

  • Now that is cool! Is there a list, rather than just a forum, anywhere on the site for this software (or any linux graphics software) which divulges linux driver supported graphics tablets and/or dgital capture pens? I've seen win/mac/chrome os supported digital notetaking pens like those on the UK maplin website (code n18jx or n20jx) but linux is where it is at and would love to see drivers for tablets/pens/microsoft surface camera capture style devices. Tablets would be the best thing mind you.

  • @TableWolfMusic Hmmm...I guess the only solution would be to just spend a bit of time googling. I do have a graphics tablet but it worked out of the box on Ubuntu...so unfortunately I can't be of much help. Sorry....

  • @Nekryu There is Gimp which you can get from your repository or add a repository which has the current gimp development (2.7.4). There is Inkscape and Xara Xtreme for vector editing, both you can get from the synaptic package manager. There is Blender, which is 3D software. Blender is available in synaptic (v2.59) or for the bleeding edge version you can visit their website for v2.61. There is also Alchemy, a concept art program, which you can get by googling "Alchemy program download"

  • @MadjetReaper sorry I meant type in only: "xsetwacom list" without the quotations.

  • @TehHumblePie Go into your synaptic and check if you have xserver-xorg-input-wacom installed. If it is go into your terminal and type this: xsetwacom list reply or not whether you see something like this:

Wacom Bamboo 2FG 4x5 Pen stylus id: 10 type: STYLUS

Wacom Bamboo 2FG 4x5 Pen eraser id: 11 type: ERASER

Wacom Bamboo 2FG 4x5 Finger touch id: 13 type: TOUCH

Wacom Bamboo 2FG 4x5 Finger pad id: 14 type: PAD

  • @InfinitelyGalactic Hi I recently purchased a Wacom Bamboo Pen, which works fine on my W7 machine but ubuntu doesn't recgonise it. Any help?

  • Which painting program is closest to ms-paint?

  • Good review,as usual. You should do app reviews more often.
