@jokerzwild2140:I've seen it too. The main thing connecting Carnes to the escape, was using his job at the library as a cover to circulate the tools to Morris, West and the Anglin brothers. Another thing connecting Carnes is that he knew the guards wouldn't check the vents when they did shakedowns.
Allen West was the one who first came up with the plan according to that other inmate Tom Kent.

The best movie ive seen of alcatraz is
"Alcatraz The Whole Shocking Story"
Its about Clarence Carnes the youngest inmate to serve time in alcatraz and who was the mastermind of the escape in the 60's. Those inmates that escape, I believe they made it.
