If you like hard to find full size SS cars, this one's for you!
Though the Chevy Impala was one of the most popular full size cars during the late 50s to mid 60s, the Super Sport option, offered from 1967 to 1969, was never given much fanfare by Chevrolet. The result was very few orders.
This 1968 SS 427 Impala is truly a rarity on the road.

Cool Cars Video offers a feast for the eyes as well as insight from car enthusiasts about owning these cool street machines.
Everybody loves cool cars.
Even a person with no particular interest in cars experiences a thrill when seated behind the wheel of a great automobile. The car is one of man's most prolific mechanical inventions and the engineer's desire to build the ultimate automobile is overshadowed only by the layman's desire to own the coolest car.
Of course, everyone has different ideas about what makes a car particularly cool.
For some it may simply be lots of cup holders or comfortable seats. But those aren't the kind of things you'll be seeing here. This site is about the most important coolness factors: Performance and Styling.
Auto enthusiasts share a common interest, but they each have different ideals about performance and styling. We like to make videos that show off cool cars and celebrate the individuality of their owners.

I had to rewind to make sure 616K was the mileage lol. This was my 1st car but 4dr and 327 but I busted heads and had the fastest car at highschool period and could do a 8th mile burnout to boot... oh and haul 4ppl in back 3(including me) in front and still chirp 2nd gear. That car was a party on wheels! Got it at 52K and sold it with 92K. Finaly got parted out all over the world by one of my friends (I think)... bastard.

@cbxsage That's because it IS an Impala - SS427 was a model option for the Impala, not a separate series. If you look at any of the official literature of the day, it normally says something along the lines of "SS427 equipment you can order for the Impala...." Yes, the cars were not adorned with Impala emblems or identification, and maybe Chevrolet wanted them known simply as "SS427" but the cars WERE Impalas with Impala VINs.

Beautiful `68 Z24. It's always great to see original owners of these cars that had the foresight to actually hang on to them after all these years! I too own a Grotto Blue `68 SS427 Sport Coupe, Z03/Z24 (Super Sport & SS427), 425 HP L72, M21, with ~43K original miles. (I'm the 3rd owner). Of the 1778 Z24 cars built in `68, I'm just curious where you were able to locate the numbers 416 Z24 Sport Coupes produced with <100 remaining? I've never been able to narrow the numbers down to that level.

661,000 miles! WOW! It's not badged as Chevrolet or Impala because it was called "SS427" period. 90% of the people describing these cars always add the "Impala" to the model and it bugs me. I had a 67 and it always got "Impala SS" branded to it when it was badged as neither. You do the car proud.

Damn I love that year, I think it's the tail lights that grab me. A very close second is the 59 impala. It's a beauty man.!! =D
