  • Once again. Outstanding work. I love it, and that chilling voice is wickedly beautiful :)

It reminds me a lot of the Gladiator soundtrack, by Hans Zimmer, which I see from other pieces that you like that style :)

I've attempted a couple of Zimmer style pieces before, but they never seem to work the way I want them to - I think it's due to both my limited DAW, a limited library and a lack of experience.

Do you have any tips on writing in this way?

  • @MagixMusicMakermusic

Start with the percussion and pay a lot of attention to a good basic percussion line. And then add some strings, fx and all other instruments you like.

But I guess I've got a better tip. Don't even try making something like Hans Zimmer, because that is what everyone is trying. Just make something in your own style.

  • I have tried something called Voices of Passion from EastWest, have you heard of it? :) But I see you are using something from ToneHammer. Do you have any opinion on which one to buy? And how much does that Tonehammer vst cost?

  • @aiiDer

It's all about personal taste. I haven't tried voices of passion, so can't tell anything. Go to tonehammer(dot)com for more info. this one costs 99 dollar [quite cheap, as all their products are].

The mayor difference, tonehammer forgotten voices is solo and rather raw and emotional, while voices of passion is a choir singing. The ending quality of tonehammer is much better, yet it's harder to make instrumental accompaniment.

so basically I would recommend forgotten voices francesca...

  • I installed something once that could use voices, too but it was too hard to figure it out. Probably was something like that. It felt a bit like programming, but it was a long time ago since I tried that.

This is really an amazing effort. There is so much feeling and expression in that voice.

This plugin is a piece of cake. This was the first time I worked with the plugin and after one hour of experimenting and finding everything out I turned it into this song, and then I added perc afterwards and so on.

Once your used to it you can make a 3 minute-long-song in just five minutes

  • Best orchestra (for me) for pc is Symphobia!!!!!

  • This is incredible! You composed this very well. I actually purchased Forgotten Voices: Franseca just last night. I like it a lot, but still have not completely got the hang of it. I think it is a matter of adding reverb to make the voice sound much better. I love that about East West's reverb, it sounds amazing, so it is just finding a way to get a good sounding reverb with Forgotten Voices too. It sounds like you used Powerful patches and Playful Chanting throughout this? WELL DONE!

  • @CedricKristian actually you are thinking of East west symphonic choirs...Voices of passion are solist as well...that being said, I have never heard of Tone hammer, until just now. I personally think Tonehammer's Forgotten voices sound SOOOO much better IMO....I am stunned O.O

  • I used Francesca for Dnb tracks Lol :)
