There was a Beefsteak Charlie's as part of the Penn Station/Madison Square Garden complex until a few years ago. Once that became a Borders bookstore, I've never seen another.

Someone once told me, "you know what it was like to play goalie without a mask. Go to Beefsteak Charlies by the Garden and have someone throw one of their steaks in your face!"

I remember back in 1975 on long Island when I went to Beefsteak Charlies for the first time.The same year they brought out the pitch "That you eat too much of Beefsteak Charlies will get you spoiled.".Well He's not kidding.Unfortunately,the same time I threw-up at the table booth when I ate my dinner there.I had a hamburger with potato chips on the side with sangria(non-alcohol).This was an untimely event that happened that night.

@shibainuwalker yes. me too. i miss them. the place now comes closest is the SIZZLER in forest hills, NY. for a steak & salad bar comes to around $ 15.99. just for the salad bar itself for $ 7.99 is full enough. i hope they'll stay. lots of SIZZLER restaurants have closed in NY.**** enjoy.****

Wow I remember Beefsteak Charlie's in Brooklyn NY in the 70's. It was a really good deal for the money.
