Russian spacegame by 1C and Crioland. After all these years it is once again possible to land on and takeoff from planets realtime, without loadingscreens or cutscenes, just like Elite Frontier. Diehard spacesim fans know what I'm talking about. Now, if only they would release an English version... the Russian language seems alien to me. It's a brilliant game engine, thank you Crioland. For more info, check www.zavtravoina.ru (if you understand Russian).

  • This is such a freespace ripoff

  • @DIVOTMOVIES not really, but it's not a very good game. They should have made it more freeroaming. It's a stupid thing to make a huge space environment complete with 3D planets and then limit the player to a silly storyline gameplay :-)

  • It's nice game. Not the best, but not the worst. One of good points is that it's story based on Tomorrow War book saga - one of few russian (ukrainian, to be honest) SciFi series that actually don't suck. In fact, these books are pretty decent, and if you want to read some nice sci-fi Space Opera... I believe, you can even enjoy it.

  • @OmegaEnvych It would be nice if a few smart script kiddies would turn this game into a free roam space/trade sim if that's even possible. It's so stupid that with a nice big open world engine like in Tomorrow War you have to follow a storyline. This game could have been good but they shouldn't have made it so linear and boring.

  • amm did you saw the inifinity game engine for space sims ?

  • @padawan007 I did, ever since the first screenshots of Infinity were published, I've followed development. It's probably going to be the best spacesim ever. However, the game is already years in development and in the meantime I must have something else to do :-)

Right now, Pioneer is my favourite spacegame. I've made a video for Pioneer, if you like spacesims like Infinity, you may want to take a look at my Pioneer video.

  • yeah mabey not, but still

  • I love the book trilogy, I love the game =)

Unfortune, the localizers translated to much from Russian to English, so you, my English-speaking friends, cannot enjoy the real story ...

  • @OmegaEnvych I have read all of them and i like them. Not all are good but there is couple of them with great story. I live in Kiev but i am not Ukrainian ;)

  • @Gisseares I had read some Stalker-related books, and, most of them are just huge fanfics. And their quality is not that good. Better, than "No, Joe, you are the zombies", but still - not that good.

Also, I'm russian-speaking Ukarinian, and I suck at english.

  • @OmegaEnvych I would suggest you to read little bit more Russian/Ukrainian writers. You would be surprised. I don't know did you heard for Stalker saga. Try to find in English or what ever language you are speak.

  • @KingHaggis Yeah, I belive, you right. They really could make it like freelancer. At least, after the moment, when character is no longer in russian military.

I kinda like games with strong storyline, and I do agreed, that this game is not that type. That is kind of problem of most russian games - they can have great potential, but, their creators just don't realize that. Only few russian games are relizing their potential and it's quite sad...
