The Sudanese army said it killed the leader of the main Darfur rebel group, touting his death as a key victory against a powerful rebel force.

Khalil Ibrahim, who led the Justice and Equality Movement, died of his wounds after a military offensive in North Kordofan state, which borders the western region of Darfur.

He was considered one of Khartoum's most powerful opponents in Darfur.

His movement, in its most stunning display of might, launched an attack in the outskirt of Khartoum that shook the government. At least 200 people, including rebels, civilians and security, died in that attack.

Al Jazeera's Mohamed Vall reports from the Sudanese capital.

  • @Evergr3entree your biased, why do you have to say Islamic terrorist not just terrorist. Racist much? Why not say that a Christian robed a bank than say a stranger robbed a bank?

  • @Walhei960 By the way your friend Khalil Ibrahim is responsible for killing masses of not only Sudanese civilians but also Libyans. He was given refuge in Libya after failing to sign the peace deal in Doha, in exchange his JEM rebel movement fought FOR Gaddaffi during the Libyan revolution. They're nothing more than hired mercenaries.

  • @blackwind3000 Well you know what? 9 out of 10 Americans are ignorant.

It all depends on location and situation. Muslims in different countries have different ratios.

I'm sure there are a lot more Islamic extremists in Afghanistan or Palestine than there are in more stable and less conflicted places.

  • @SrslyLeeroy that's is why to the common American they think 4 out of 10 Muslims are extremely evil right?

  • @blackwind3000 Because they should actually be referred to as "Islamic Extremists". That's what they are, if they declare Jihad, becoming mujahedin. Jihad is "holy war", and mujahedin is "one who fights in the name of their religion".

    So they are Islamic terrorists/extremists.

Now stop being a pretentious hippie who defends people with no significance to them or vice verse.

  • I must admit I am ignorant to some or most of the politics or religious issues, but regardless wrong is wrong and its as wrong as it can get

  • It bothers me that our country has spent so much money and time in Iraq when this shit has been going on for so many years, and these people truly are as deserving of our help as any in the past have been, these rebel leaders are as evil as Hitler was...

The Zionists would be happy if the Sudanese government was "wiped of the earth". However, this entire situation requires more insight. It is important to know and understand the game and strategy of the chief adversary. It is not wise to wish upon Sudan what happened in Libya, even though the Bashir government offered some level of assistance in the overthrow of Libyan government. Again, go to the root, the instigator and ultimate executioner.

  • @bak221

Now you exposed yourself for a fake who prtends to care about violence, and ignore the fact Muslims never started the wars that you speak of as defence:

Israel with the help of the world powers (Judeo-Christians) -- bribed by the Zionist bankers -- gave a land which was already occupied by Christians and Muslim Palestinians (including Jewish comunioties who live in peace) to European Jews.

Would Christians turn their other cheeck to the Israeli aggressor.

  • @myyou1 [2] Israel and Ethiopia are defending their land from Arabs and Islam. Islam says kill them and this is why they are ready for you.

  • @myyou1 You got no information about the gov. of Khartoum, they are Arabs. Nubians are ethnic minority in Sudan and never ruled Sudan for long long time. If politics has nothing to do with religion why they use it to win election or to take over the country? they had to play politics only. In Sudan the gov. is Islamic, they say so. They kill you saying Alahu Akbar, what that means? politics?

  • @bak221

Why does the religion of a Msulim becomes an Issue when the subject of your critic is a Muslim but not when we discuss Christians 'Christian war criminals! Christian terrorists!

You never ask why Ethiopian Christians invaded and massacred Muslims in Somalia? or Jews killed Palestinian Christians and Muslims?

    A hint:

"Many Israeli troops had the sense of fighting a "religious war" against Gentiles during the 22-day offensive in Gaza" - search independent co uk - add . in URL
