This short video clip shows a laptop that was purchased for £10 from a bootsale in the state that it was originally and how it was soon transformed into a perfectly usable little laptop.
The specs of the laptop when purchased: Intel Pentium 3 1.066GHz, 256MB RAM, 20GB hard drive, DVD-ROM, Toshiba wireless lan card, Linux Xubuntu installed.
Changes made include: Intel 2200BG wireless card (for better coverage and security), fresh reinstallation of XP Professional + SP3 + updates.
This laptop sold for £45 within a day of advertising, making me about £30 profit. If you can show stuff like this working and perfectly usable, it will sell (as long as you don't ask too much of course). Folks at bootsales rarely have the chance to see stuff like this working so they will go for low prices.
