  • losers. :P

if anything they are hurting their own movement by being so unreasonable.

i have no idea what they think they are going to accomplish by getting themselves arrested.

and their immaturity just shines through their reaction to all of this. it's incredible.

  • Yes, b/c I should make less with a William and Mary degree than someone who cleans up crap.

  • Believe it or not, you don't run this school. *Sighs*. Self-righeous idiots.

  • Wow you guys are retarded

  • @ThatGuy99229 Also, I don't think the workers really deserve that much of an increase. They already make more than the state average for unskilled labor and I honestly don't see them working that hard. While I recognize their important contribution, I feel like pay should reflect the amount of work completed and I see them smoking cigarettes a lot more than working...at least in my dorm. The LWC would do more to improve these workers conditions by raising money to help them kick smoking.

  • @toreadorwannabe While it is admirable to advocate for improving the conditions of those making low wages, I think the LWC is out of line. They're asking too much, they're disrespectful, and contrary to what they say, they don't seem at all ready to work with the administration and haven't offered any real solutions. They badger the administration but the administration really has no money to work with. If the LWC wants to lobby anyone it should be the VA state legislature.

  • Excellent on the arrests, its only unfortunate that they waited so long to do it and kept good people from going home to their families.

  • I'm proud to be a William & Mary alum; it takes a lot of courage to stand up and speak out and it's a lost art. After you account for the utter nervousness of standing in front of a crowd of people, I think this argument was well-made. Institutions of higher education rely on many people who are often at the lowest stratification of wage at the institution and it's time that those institutions made an effort to demonstrably appreciate those people.
