This is my rubik's cube program at work. It is called Ultimate Magic Cube and it's a cube simulator. With this program it is possible to create many different sorts of Rubik's puzzles. Some of them are showcased in this movie.

System requirements (in case you get an error):
Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 (I haven't tried UMC on older operating systems, but it might work), a video card released in 2003 or later, Directx 9 or better.

Errors:
If you get the message "Failed creating the direct3d device", you either have an insufficient video card, or a too old DirectX version.

Your video card might not be good enough because of the following:
1 It was released before or during 2003.
2 It is an onboard video card, which is mostly not as good as a regular nVidia or ATI card
3 It is a special laptop card, which is often also not as good as a regular video card.

Video cards which are good enough are:
nVidia 5000 series or better (or ATI equivalent)
Nowadays a nVidia 5000 card should cost no more than 75 dollars (is about 50 euros or about 50 pounds).

DirectX 9.0c can be download here:

  • @KlaasABCD it's been soooo long bud I'm qrlasers internet updater kid, ok but wow I'm a ethicial hacker now althought I did do my part in bad hacking :(,

I'm going to learn C++ this year and try to make some like mini arcade trype games :)

  • @TheLitefire cool about the learning C++. A whole new world of creativity will open up for you. Mini online games are very hot at the moment. Surely there is some interesting work to be found there.

  • i make many cubes but when i save them they say they r saved but i can find them later

  • @KMTTAM make sure the .pzl extension is also in the textfield when entering a puzzle name. If you save 'mypuzzle' instead of 'mypuzzle.pzl' you won't find it in the load puzzle screen.

For all the puzzles you've made so far, you can get them 'back' by going to the folder 'UltimateMagicCube\Puzzles' and renaming the puzzles in there by adding '.pzl' to their names.

    hope this helps

  • @emoman7777 A star shape is not possible in UMC. Only the 5 basic shapes in the editor are possible.

  • @emoman7777 what i meant to say was how do u make a starminx??

  • hey ho

  • klaasABCD open run and type iexpress and make a installer for all your files and make it save to 'C:\programfiles'maybe 86'\'thenameoftheprogram'\'allthefilesgohere'

now you can give people a installer, I'm thinking people are just taking out the lnk or exe file out of the archive and trying to use it. I doubt you would want to make it a standalone file....

  • @KlaasABCD cool thanks bro is umc in a usable stat that IU could beta test if so send me a link I have nothing better to do lol I'm bored

  • if anybody extracts this on to there desktop remember you have to extract all the files in that rar or zip file or else it will not work.

  • could you make this work on macs too?

  • @KlaasABCD i did that and it saved it al long as i never closed the window when i do and i go back i can't find it anymore and the name isn't there in "puzzles"
