The rider was having a problem assessing bends and making steady progress. I went in front, started doing the commentary, including gear selection and revs. The video is the result. Early footage

  • whats a friendly turn and a non friendly turn?.... =/

  • I was out with a client who came up with the phrase. Friendly Bend - It discribes a bend where every thing looks right, view into it, I can see the severity, I can use all the observations aids. Thsi is going to be a good one. Non friendly, alarm bells....Having to thing about speed, better gear etc.

    Hope that makes sense

  • Thanks for the new video's Nigel.

I find talking to myself helps keep me alert, Found it very difficult at first but the more i do it the more i seem to notice things around me which can only be a good thing.

I believe giving a commentary was once a mandatory part of the advanced test but i may be wrong.

  • Commentary is part of an advanced car test, but not mandatory

  • Fantastic as always, your verbal directions always amaze me, it must have taken a lot of practice through out the years to get to that level of clarity and direction.

  • Some say it is the first signs of madness, talking to yourself. Some say it is a bit over the top, but the clients remember and hear my voice when they ride out themsleves - 'Loose your view, loose your speed' etc

  • All very impressive - no really, I mean it. But now you should watch some "ghost rider" videos.

  • how can someone drive safe with some one non-stop talking inside the helmet? I would not possibly concentrate on what I'm doing in such a condition.

No offense but this is really nonsense. Driving a motorcycle needs a perfect concentration. And the way you're doing it is just the opposite...

  • Cheers, that was a quick reply!

I guess it makes a little sense... Though i'm not sure how easily it'ld be to distinguish between a friendly one and a non friendly one in the real world... Guess it takes some practice!

Anyway, thanks, you videos are very helpful!!

  • I get hear your voice just from watching your videos.
