Phobos2 trip of Mars and Terraforming possiblities of space. I bet if you got to the moon you'd find out there was already a landlord. Mineral claims have already started perhaps for Helium3:

Well 1 day after the Province reported the Canadian portion of discovery of cloud formations, dust storms and snow falling the RC team at NASA announced after 5 months the Pheonix lander has gone offline. I have not done research on power sources used but for a probe that landed closer to the northen polar ice cap and mountain range now exposed it did a great job. An even more outstanding fact is that Vic at radio NBC had no idea about the snow, winds (see CSA podcast 7?) and other weather observations made by Canadian instruments. I would think as the northern cap thaws further actual liquids may form once all the Co2 in the ground locked ice further add to an atmosphere. Not too far off that Arnie movie about Mars, a thawing planet core could produce all kinds of snow and surface h2o, co2 far greater than our .o3%, but will nitrogen and oxegen vent out? Tough to think where that would come from or be generated unless the h2o splits or gives it up. :o) Book your flights now!
.
Makes a little sense if there was a stripping of the atmosphere at one point and as it froze what remaining water contracted into the core. That scenario would eliminate life being there that could not also survive a thawing of this age old ice.
.
3 cheers for Canada and whoever made the Province newspaper story of Nov 9th 2008 page 33 possible!
Cool documentary:

  • ...and what's with NASA's blue map of MARS? yes that is Mars but does the blue represent trapped h2o? or just the real deal? Anyone heard they tint the images to avoid showing atmosphere? would snow be red? clouds too? I don't think so but all we see is a barren red planet right?
