I'll start a debate:

An interesting thought came to mind while listening to the amazing David speaks about the value of animals lives being equal to ours and that as powerful humans we have the duty to protect, and I agree with that, but the point that came to mind is:

do you believe humans have the responsibility to stop any killing in the world? Should we stop a lion from killing a zebra as the zebra's life is equal to ours. And if we shouldnt stop the lion, should we stop arresting murderers?

Right now with the vast majority of humans complicit in the breeding and killing of billions upon billions of domestic feed animals it is a far way away until we can transform consciousness to a point of total non violence for wild animals like lions....

@Zabarilo PART 4 To take the point to it's extreme possibility, our conscious evolution in this dimension is capable of eliminating all violence - but this may only be possible when we create an alternate dimension beyond this one - this I feel is the possibility of our existence, of the mechanism that is our minds. @AaronJMarch I hope u realize that all this 'At some point we will be able to bring the lion to see the light and become a vego' sounds too similar to the missionaries who helped all those backward primitives in the colonies to see the true God in Jesus. I can see how you can alienate yourself from the educated main steam by taking a missionary approach and habba babba terminology of new dimensions. Check out the Peta videos again. U must show the horrors in addition to talking about it. xox

@Zabarilo yes I do realise this, and your question was a 'lions with the lambs' (or zebras!) question which christianity alludes to, missionary like. However if we as humans can't embrace the basic idea of non violence in our own personal every day lives then the lion and the zebra never could. We must crawl before we can walk. Compassionate living in one's own life is the crawling. The transformation of other species on the planet is a high speed super train.

@Zabarilo I agree the horrors must be show, but ironically no one wants to see snuff videos, let alone people just talking about it so it is a perplexing state of mind we live in...

@Zabarilo Humans have no need to eat other animals. Being vegan is completely healthy and easy. However a lion killing a zebra has no moral choice, it is a matter of necessity.

@Zabarilo PART 2 There is at this stage in our evolution as the self proclaimed intelligent and most powerful species on the planet that we must first take care of the animals that are in our necessitated 'care' - domesticated animals like a chicken would not last more than a day or two in the wild - yet when we have a blurry perception of our 'care' of them (to breed them by the billions only to kill them) it is hard to see a world where we could energetically or otherwise allow...

@Zabarilo Yes humans do have the responsibility and capacity/potential to ultimately to direct all of life to non violence. This is obviously a big leap for anyone's mind to grasp especially when we still allow the needless death of children of our own species (30,000 a day as you say is 30,000 too many)....
