Yes, there is a waist-height metal barrier but I've seen people lift them to create a gap to slip through. On my last visit in Oct 2010 there was a weird guy who jumped the fence & actually spent 15 mins clawing at the dirt on Jim's grave with a makeshift tool to bury a memento. Didn't see one guard in the whole cemetery! Along with thief who stole Jim's stone bust it seems that some people just can't visit the grave and behave with any dignity.

@TheGrownUpAdult: Actually, the sculpture (or its replica) was stolen 2 times, if I am not mistaking. It's in fact Jim's father who decided in the 90's to place a flat stone on the grave, which includes the famous Greek inscription. The Croatian sculptor (Mladen Mikulin) who made the original bust has now made 2 new replicas and is awaiting a license from the city, but I think that will be denied for obvious reasons.

@6Fritzzzzz I read years ago that his body had been removed because others who had family buried there didn't like the disruptive nature of some of the people coming to visit Jim's grave. I don't know if it is true or not. Do you know for a fact he is there?
