omg! hydrophobia is a late stage in the symptoms of rabies. my first time seeing this condition.

What is being done in the US to ease these tragic victims of this heinous disease is to put them in comas so at least they will be asleep and not have to endure the prolonged suffering that appears to be unbearable. It has acutally cured a few people as well. I read that 55,000 people suffer from hydrophobia and die worldwide annually!!! Sadly, they generally just tie them down and allow them to writhe and scream in terror and agony until they succumb. It is heinous..

I understand you better now that you've clarified, excuse the ignorant remark. I fully agree with your last statement.

@philonetic No, I'm not against it "either way". Don't call me ignorant after you've made an assumption. I'm all for the early, calm, and peaceful euthanasia of human beings in cases of terminal and unavoidable fatality. There is NO reason a person should suffer like this. A doctor should take responsibility, show a case that the individual can not survive the condition based on current, longstanding ANCIENT evidence, and responsibly end the patients life. Anything else, is CRUELTY.

After the disease has taken hold, there is NOTHING that we can do except make them as comfortable as possible. Please stop speaking from a position of ignorance, nobody wants the child to suffer, but there is NOTHING they can do except kill them early. You want them to kill them before the disease does? I'm sure you're against it either way, and that's why I call you ignorant. Say something positive, I know it's hard, but try.
Bless these poor children and their families.

@AtlantaITGirl it's just a later stage of rabies if you get bitten by a rabid dog cat bat and don't get a vaccine shot right away you can kiss your ass good bye
rabid people have hydrophobia and aerophobia because they experience chest, throat pain when they see water up close or when wind gets blown in their face
the virus makes you insane :(
next time when you see peta complaining about stray dogs being put down
just link them to these videos :> to shut them up

@strikerk what u call love and respect may not be the same thing others perceive as that. I've met people - especially in the US - who're generally against medicine, vaccines, abortion, euthanasia, etc, just because they love and respect an invisible god and a convict who was executed 2000 years ago more than they do their fellow man.
Witches were not burned because of hate but because religious folks have a very bizarre concept of love ... :(

@HELLSGONEBANKROUPT Rabies is uncurable. There is no cure. It's 14-30 days of the worst possible way a human being can die. It would be faster to burn at the stake than to die of thirst, seizure and excruciating pain from the inside out. But we sit there, and we let these children~ ... I just saw a video of a six year old tied up to a bed while he froths at the mouth. It took him 27 days to die. 27 fucking days. We treat animals with more love and respect. It's as if we fucking hate these kids.
Rest in peace and thank you for share this video, now I can learn more... God Bless the family

@momoyen And to what purpose? Why do we let these people suffer and why do we let their families suffer by watching their loved ones suffer? I used to be completely against euthanasia but now I see it as a blessing. I'm glad that at least in some countries, you can legally euthanize yourself if your disease is fatal and there is no cure. I honestly can't understand why we drag people through a few more measly months when they're begging us to stop their pain.
