Done the exact same thing (well not the same thing, mine was my right arm) in school when i was 16. But i guess in shock I stood straight back up, looked at it all mangled and walked to the sickroom to get it "treated". Wasn't until 10minutes later the pain truly set in.

Breaks are strange. I broke my elbow falling off a ladder. Once it healed, I couldn't throw anymore. When I moved my arm too quickly, I hyperextend my elbow...the break changed the geometry enough to screw the whole joint up. Damn.
