The Southern Christian Leadership Conference of Greater Los Angeles (SCLC) will hold a march and rally on to commemorate the 41st anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The event is designed to call attention to and renew the focus on the need for quality jobs and education and safe neighborhoods. Themed Remembering King, Realizing the Dream, the march will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 9 a.m. beginning at Foshay Learning Center (Harvard and Exposition Boulevards) and travel west on Exposition Boulevard to Dorsey High School (Farmdale Avenue). The rally will take place at Dorsey High School at 12 noon. Community partners include the: SEIU, AFL-CIO, United Teachers Los Angeles, Fix Expo Campaign, Say Yes to Children!, Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy, Brotherhood Crusade, and Mothers in Action.
