  • Osu!! Sensie R.I.P.

  • @JonahMolina In some throws you do follow the motion to make it more real, but to cartwheel dramatically and do things like 1:28 seem ridiculous. I am a Judoka and I know that many parts of Aikido work, I would just like to see more of it against a more active and real resistance like the video I mentioned with the wrestler. Doing these seems like a kata and doesn't dazzle the trained eye.

  • @TheTerrorUforgot

    no disrespect intended, but the students fall like that to prevent the dislocating or breaking of a joint/bone.

    When you first join aikido you spend the first months learning how to fall.

    I agree it appears flashy and almost set up to be movie stunts, but thats just how you fall when practicing in aikido

    again, no disrespect intended on your opinion :)

  • Your words are nothing but nonsense! How many authentic (because not all of them are) ki-aikido dojos have you been into? Do you REALLY know what you are talking about? I dont thing so!

  • Your Mom`s Boyfriend was Tohei Sensei I guess and he didnt take you into his classes to teach you aikido,this anger of you figures itself

  • The clip where the dude tries to wrestle him down is a much better demo than this stuff I think. When Aikido students run at a master and do this ridiculous cartwheel falls, it seems very unrealistic. Demos are usually flashy, though.

  • Magma, thank you so much for preserving these early tresures.

    I have Tohei's book but it is such an advantage to see the man's movements,. body postureand focus.

    The "Unbendable Pinkie" was amazing!

    re the snark;

    Master Uichi Kuda( 9th dan Shorin Ruy) had a phrase that seems to fit here; "Guchi Bushi" -for those who do no understand Japanese, it means {Mouth Warrior".

    Cheers

    Laurence
