@JonahMolina In some throws you do follow the motion to make it more real, but to cartwheel dramatically and do things like 1:28 seem ridiculous. I am a Judoka and I know that many parts of Aikido work, I would just like to see more of it against a more active and real resistance like the video I mentioned with the wrestler. Doing these seems like a kata and doesn't dazzle the trained eye.

When you first join aikido you spend the first months learning how to fall.

I agree it appears flashy and almost set up to be movie stunts, but thats just how you fall when practicing in aikido

The clip where the dude tries to wrestle him down is a much better demo than this stuff I think. When Aikido students run at a master and do this ridiculous cartwheel falls, it seems very unrealistic. Demos are usually flashy, though.
