Guitar Workshop Hamburg 31.Oct.08
Andy showed us his Avalon L32 guitar (aprox USD 3300.00) in which he combines 2 systems:
1) K & K (between USD 300.00 and 400.00) composed of a Mic and 3 pickups go to 1 output. http://www.kksound.com/

2) Sunrise Magnetic Pickup (between USD 250.00 and 300.00) goes to another output. http://www.sunrisepickups.com/

This is why he has 2 outputs on the bottom of the guitar, which he then mixes in a preamp.

  • @TheYairisan err... better read up before you tell anyone to shut up:

    kksound.com/trinitymini.html

it is just as in the description of the video.

  • What's he talking about - a mic? There's no mic anywhere; it's a mag pickup + tranducer pickup system. Shaddup wi da "mic," Andy.

  • i thought that noise was my stomach O.o

  • that grudge sound was FREAKIN ME OUT TOO!

  • Michael Hedges did something similar; i read it in his book from Stropes that he used a blend of Sunrise mag pickups and a mic

  • Jupiter's cock, that's interesting

  • andy mckee is meh cousin :-) ( REALLY NO JOKE ) Im very proud of him!

  • Andy must've shed about 100 Pounds!

  • @OoT94 I'm not sure exactly which one he uses, but I'm pretty sure it's the trinity mini (which is what I have). I'm pretty sure because I've heard he uses a Dtar preamp, which is not an onboard preamp. The difference between the mini and the classic (or western) is it does not have an onboard preamp. While you'll have to get a prepamp separately from the pickup/mic system, it allows you to update your preamp without having to go inside the guitar and tear out the old one.

  • @tcollinsNY does andy use the normal kk trinity mini or the onboard version?

Do you know the difference, if you also have on?
