This is an experiment my room mate and I performed for extra credit in our Fluid Mechanics class. The purpose of this experiment was to demonstrate that different flow rates can be achieved by changing the style of the orafice the water flows through. The hole in each bucket was drilled to the same diameter. One bucket had just a simple hole while the other had a funnel. Because we couldnt properly seal the funnel to the hole, that bucket didnt drain as fast as we thought, but it still drained faster than the bucket with a simple hole.
