  • I heard this on a comp of Polish composers, with some Gorecki and Kilar, I believe. I loved everything, but this transcription was the first thing of Szymanowski's I ever heard. He has since become one of my favorite composers -- along with the other impressionists, Debussy, Ravel, Takemitsu. This piece is truly haunting. In fact, in some ways I prefer it to the original piano score. I think it's perfect in this context. Thank you very much for uploading.

  • @profoblivion Yes you are right, this comes from that CD. People also often forget that this brilliant arrangement is done by a woman.

  • 84 views upsets me

  • Given the enormous amount of you tube uploads, this is not a bad amount for three weeks. It's a gem, true, but who knows that and actually searches for this? Very few people. It's the randomness which gives it exposure.

  • My friend told me to listen to this... so I did. I wasn't expecting this for an "etude"

  • unbelievably beautiful !

  • I have to listen to this version because all of the piano versions of this on youtube are awful.

  • @bartje11 Thanks; this is lovely.

  • Beautiful indeed ! I did not notice that you posted it since, as I consider Szymanowski as one of the major composers in the XX century, I would have listened to this Etude immediately. So, thanks for the heads-up !
