Improved sequences of the typhoon Tip in October, 1979.
Tip has been the most extensive tropical cyclone of the history and it was generated in the region West Pacific; the region that produces the biggest number of tropical systems on a global scale and of major intensity.
This extraodinary typhoon that fortunately did not enter
direct to land his maximum intensity produced supported winds of 305 km/h or 190 m/h and it reached a minimal
pressure of 870 mb on the 12th already with characteristics of super typhoon..
It is of the size of this monster takes to consideration: 2220
km or 1380 miles of diameter that make turn pale to any other
tropical well-known system.

It affected Guam and Japan provoking 86 direct deaths; this owed more than anything to the enormous floods that it left to his step as typhoon category 1 and tropical storm.

Recent studies suggest that there are 2 typhoons: Angela, 1995 and Gay, 1992 in addition of 1 cyclone Monica 2006; could be equal to or less pressure to Tip. A debate continues in the absence of conclusive data.

Typhoon Tip - 1Typhoon record:
Tropical cyclone with the biggest well-known extension: 2220 km (1380 miles) of diameter.
Radio of tropical action of gale-force winds: +1000 km or +600
miles.
Minor central confirmed pressure: 870 mb.

  • wow! ur new video is really awesome , huge and strong tropical cyclone i've ever seen

  • Rex Greetings!.. truth as you mention, this is a typhoon that does not happen very often, as you'll see its maximum intensity occurred in front of the Philippines.

  • At :42 Tip looks incredibly huge! I know it was the largest tropical cyclone on record - and I can see that.

Thanks for putting up another interesting video!

  • Hey Max! .. is an unprecedented phenomenon as Tip, if you were in the Gulf of Mexico would have Miami and Cancun with winds of tropical storm strength simultaneously. Of these dimensions has been that monster.. thanks for your opinion.

  • And the strongest at 870 millibars! That compares more to tornado like pressures! :)
