Sorry for the thumbs down Dan, clicked the mouse when I shouldn't have - my bad.
As to your post, the only way the sport can grow in the U.S. is to establish Rec Footy programs in schools. It is great physical exercise and fun to play. Start them young and then it has a chance to grow.
It will always be a niche sport (hockey, soccer, etc.) in the U.S., but if we start now we could have a player in the AFL by 2020.
