At the invitation of Point de Bascule and the Free Thinking Film Society, Dr. Bruce Bawer will be speaking at major venues in Montreal, Quebec and Ottawa

Bawer is a renowned essayist and author bestselling books (Stealing Jesus, While Europe Slept and Surrender) Based in Norway, he is known internationally for his straightforward criticism of multiculturalism and his deeply informed warnings about the threat of Islamic radicalism to Western security, culture and identity. A gay activist who became disillusioned by what he saw as the increasing influence of America's religious right, Dr Bawer left his US homeland in 1998, only to be shocked by alarming trends he discovered on arriving in once-tolerant Europe. He witnessed the Old World's post-Enlightenment traditions of tolerance and openness under siege: Islamic fundamentalism was on the march, and time-honoured rights were failing along with the cultural confidence and self-respect of Europe's indigenous populations.

I disagree regarding the comment about BNP. I , as an atheist Jew , would join them instead of being against them. Since the main parties are not dealing with the biggest threat that Europe faces, I think if many people would join BNP - that would dillute its racist roots , and eventually could make a normal party .

@Kurtlane The only way to prevent an Islamic takeover is to ban Islam all together. Islam should not be granted freedom of religion. Islam should be singled out and discriminated against. We either destroy Islam or Islam destroys us. I don't have patience for any one making room for Islam. The world will be better off with no Islam. Any one who extends freedom to Islam is an enemy of freedom and they should be opposed.

it's a little disheartening that when he was asked for evidence suggesting that  the islamification of europe is a serious threat, he said something along the lines of "i think eventually people will start speaking up" that didn't even answer the question! not to say he doesn't have an answer, sometimes thinking on your feet can be difficult, but for someone like me who's skeptical whether or not this is a serious threat, it's not convincing

This is not my interpretation. I have read a paper whitten by an Islamist promoting these Islamic centers with this very purpose.

Look around. Islamic centers are everywhere.

What is the purpose of these centers? It is to isolane European or American Muslims from the street, so they might spend a whole day there. And then day after day. In an environment like this, little by little, indoctrination sets in.

Before these centers appeared, Muslims in Europe or America had only mosques for prayers. Everything else was European or American culture, and they were merging with it. It's this merging that the centers are designed to stop.

In addition to the madrassas in Pakistan, there is a European (and American) twist on the story. In Europe and America, Islamic centers are proliferating. These include mosques and Islamic schools, but also a bit of everything for everyone: stores for people to shop in, gyms for teenagers, libraries, etc. And definitely a lecture hall.

Francly, I do not expect a civil war or a reconquista in Europe. I expect Europe to surrender without a fight and become what Middle East or North Africa are today.

One can hear a lot of anger and frustration from ordinary people, but all that is stuffed inside. There is no action.

@Kbrt111, unfortunately, for us Jews, the choice between Islamists and their "moderate" appeasers on one hand and parties like BNP on the other is like choosing a butcher who will cut off one's head.

But there is hope. There is EDL (English Defense League).
